INVENTING THE ABBOTTS

This beautiful 1950s dress was worn by Liv Tyler in Inventing the Abbotts. The dress was incredibly tiny, so I altered it by expanding the sides to fit her while preserving the original silhouette and design. Matching trimmings were found in Los Angeles fabric stores that had been in business for decades, allowing the new sections to blend seamlessly with the original design. It was a wonderful opportunity to work with an authentic period garment and adapt it for the screen while preserving what made the original so special.
